It is time for your Christmas Order!
Christmas is still magical for me. I know it has a lot of sentimental memories. It is the time of year when I miss my family in Germany the most. My parents, my siblings and my cousins, all around a huge table, loaded with sweet german sauerkraut, big bread dumplings and my Grossmuttis famous Christmas Goose. We were always fighting over little slivers of crispy delicious skin and while my Grossvati was still alive you could for sure find him in the kitchen after the meal, picking on the bones...
These times are long gone, both of my grandparents are gone and I have not been able to spent a Christmas with my family in ten years. I honestly believe this is one of the main reasons why I started raising Geese.
Memories last a lifetime and I can remember the smell of the roasting Goose in the oven as soon as you entered the front door. I associate that smell with happyness, laughter and family. I miss that so much that I try at least to recreate the dinner. With all the changes in my life and in the life of my children, it is even more important to me to create a memory this year. I decided to focus on that instead of presents. I want to create a memory for them that they will carry in their hearts and minds to adult hood so they can get strengh from that memory,whenever there is the need for it.
